“The product evaluation of low level laser therapy consisted of treating the wounds of
sixteen residents with laser therapy over a nine-week period. Overall, the experience was
positive for residents and staff. Healing was noted in the majority of wounds. Although
nursing time was increased in the beginning of the treatment, itwas soon shown that using
LLLT through stage 1 and 2 wounds would decrease nursing time by arresting the
progression of wounds and pressure areas to stage 3 and 4. Arresting the progression of
